Musical Bridges for Peace and Solidarity
From 6–13 July 2026, young musicians from Finland, Sweden, Ukraine, and Switzerland come together for Musical Bridges for Peace and Solidarity, an international project that highlights the power of music to foster dialogue, understanding, and peace. The tour brings the Wegelius Chamber Strings and the Finnish Youth Choir to Switzerland for a series of concerts featuring Nordic, Baltic, and Ukrainian music.
Initiated by the Ukraine Culture Network, the project aims to build meaningful connections between young people through artistic collaboration across cultures and borders.
The project is led by Werner Schmitt, with Jutta Seppinen serving as principal conductor, alongside artistic directors Annemarie Åström and Elisa Huovinen. It is held under the patronage of the Ambassadors of Ukraine, Finland, and Sweden to Switzerland.
